TLC is a British TV channel owned by Discovery Networks Northern Europe, based on the American channel of the same name. It launched on 30 April 2013 at 8:00 p.m.,[1] replacing Discovery Real Time and DMAX +2.[2]

The original version of TLC was launched in 1994 and was subsequently renamed Discovery Home & Leisure and later Discovery Real Time as part of Discovery's catalogue of themed channels. Given that TLC is chasing a completely different demographic than the old TLC, Discovery is treating it as a new channel launch rather than a return.

On 30 April 2013, TLC moved into Challenge's EPG slot on Sky channel 125, which moved into DMAX +1's location, channel 145, which moved down the EPG. DMAX +2, which was exclusive to Sky, was replaced by TLC +1.

A two-hour timeshift, TLC +2, launched on Sky on 16 September 2013. It closed on 27 April 2018, and was replaced by Discovery Turbo +1.[3]
