Sony Entertainment Television (abbr. SET) is an Indian Hindi-language general entertainment television channel. It was launched in October 1995, and is owned by Sony Pictures Networks India, a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment,[2] which in turn is owned by the Japanese Sony Corporation.
SET has been one of India's most popular television channels, having produced many iconic shows such as CID, Aahat, Kkusum, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara, and Crime Patrol.[3] It also broadcasts internationally and gets high ratings throughout the South Asian niché community.

A version for international transmission exists, which was previously known as Sony Entertainment Television Asia. Launched on 8 October 1998, it is based in the United Kingdom. The international version is available in several countries and regions, including Australia, Canada, Europe, Fiji, Guyana, Mauritius, the Middle East, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
