Roberto Speranza (born 4 January 1979) is an Italian politician, member of the Chamber of Deputies. He is currently one of the main leaders of Democratic and Progressive Movement.[1]

Speranza was, previously, the Democratic Party leader in the Chamber of Deputies from 19 March 2013 to 15 April 2015, when he resigned due to contrasts with party's leader and Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.[2]

On 20 February 2017 he left the Democratic Party together with other members of the left-wing minority, including former secretary Pier Luigi Bersani, due to an harsh contrast with the majority of the party, led by Renzi.[3]
